SPF Setup on GoDaddy
An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record is a type of TXT record that can help identify which mail servers are permitted to send email on behalf of your domain.
Adding an SPF record can help detect and prevent email spoofing. Only one SPF record will work on your domain at a time and we're unable to provide guidance on custom SPF records.
Your domain must be using GoDaddy nameservers to add an SPF record in your GoDaddy account.
If your email is set up with Professional Email, Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, Linux Hosting, Gen 4 VPS & Dedicated Hosting, or Media Temple Mail, your SPF record must have the Value set as v=spf1 include:secureserver.net -all
to work properly.
Step 1: Sign In to your GoDaddy account
Sign In to your Godaddy account.
Step 2: Go to manage DNS page
In All Products and Services section, you should see the list of all of your domains.
Click on DNS button in front of your domain.
Step 3: Add a new record
In DNS Management click on Add New Record button
Step 4: Enter SPF Record
- In Type, Select TXT and enter @ in Host.
- Paste
“v=spf1 include: _spf.example.com ~all”
(Replace this with your value) in Value - TTL should be default 1 Hour
- Select Save to add your new record
When you're copying the SPF record, please be careful not to add any extra spaces before or after the record. This will invalidate the record.
Most DNS updates take effect within an hour but could take up to 48 hours to update globally.
